Vertical Panel Saws
Colonial Saw Co. is the North American distributor for STRIEBIG vertical panel saws, the legendary Swiss-made machines that are renowned for their precision, durability, safety, and ease of use, and small footprint.
Aluminum sheet and aluminum composite material (ACM) panels, as well as other non-ferrous panels can be easily handled, cut and/or grooved on any STRIEBIG model. In fact, STRIEBIG worked together with AluSuisse, the inventor of ACM, to develop the grooving accessory and various grooving cutters for ACM panels, so that fabricators could more easily rout accurate and consistent grooves for bending the panels. All models are available in several frame sizes to suit various panel sizes.
The basic Compact model is available in both manual and automatic traveling versions and can be enhanced by adding a wide range of accessories, including digital measuring, grooving, and even angle cutting. Its flexibility and attractive price make it the most popular choice among ACM fabricators and is usually ordered in the larger frame size to accommodate the common 196” x 62” sheets.
The Standard model is the longtime workhorse of the group and is ideal for thicker, heavier sheets and also has a wide range of accessories that can be added at a later date as needs change. The Standard model celebrates its 50th year in production- tried and true!
The Evolution is the latest generation of STRIEBIG innovation and is the most advanced manual traveling machine in the industry. Digital measuring and full-support wood backing grid are standard equipment, and almost all of the set-up of a cut is done automatically or at the push of a button, including lock/unlock and pivoting of the saw head. The operator controls these functions on a touch screen control panel, which provides information on machine status and diagnostics as well.
The Control is the ultimate in vertical panel saw technology. It has all of the features of the Evolution, plus automatic, variable-speed travel in both axes. It has additional options available which can find the top of the panel for trim cutting, bottom of panel trim cutting, and programmable measuring in both directions. It truly makes easy work of cutting and grooving panels.
